Monday with Dunkin Duck

Monday with Dunkin Duck

While eating a wonderful breakfast cooked  by my lovely wife I overheard Dunkin Duck say he was ready to get back in the game!

So I ask Mrs. OSJ if she would like to spend the day on two wheels. Silly question if you know my wife. Even though I had some work I could have done today I thought it would be so much nicer to spend the day with my best friend on two wheels riding around New England.

We didn’t have the gps today, just a paper map stuck in the top of the tank bag. I had an idea on what I wanted to do and where I could place my little friend. But I also wanted to just ride and explore. We brought our Harley Tour card with us just in case we were going to be near one of the dealerships. I also had a theme tag I thought I could get.

So off we go!

It was such a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the temp was in the mid 50’s when we left. I knew we were gonna have a great day. Duckin Duck was also happy, he had a new signature from Mrs OSj and a little buddy to keep him company

We found ourselves heading towards Westford and the MIT Haystack Observatory. This is where I knew I would find something for the current theme tag on the ST.N message board.

After a fun ride up and back on RT 40 we turned the fender towards Billerica. The girl behind the counter that does the tour card stamps really took a liking to Dunkin and wanted to be in a photo with him.

After our cards were stamped we headed back out for some more riding. I knew of a street that wasn’t too far away and I thought it would be a good spot to leave our friend.

If you find yourself in the Groton area check out this road, I found this road about 20 years ago while doing lawn care work in the area.
We made our way south and stopped at Fern’s Country Store for a nice outside lunch. We were dressed kind of warm for sitting in the afternoon sun. It felt great!

Our sammies were equally great, If you are in the area check this place out for some good eats. Plus they have a small coffee/Latte shop inside…that’s duck theme too!

Some other photos we took during today ride…

We got home just in time to get lizzy off the bus from school.
Another successful day of riding while the kids were in school. We left just as the youngest got on the bus and got home in time to get her off. You can’t do too many miles when this is the only time you can ride, but trust me the smiles inside your helmet are just as wide.
The perfect way to spend the day with your better half!

Now for those that want to go find Dunkin Duck please send me a email, or PM for better hints and instructions on where he is located. My email is oldstone4@msn.com I don’t think anyone would be able to find him without a few more hints. This is being done to try and protect him from the bad people out there
